General Description: Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is an educational framework based on cognitive neuroscience. The new Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) governing K-12 education in the United States defines and endorses UDL as a framework to help achieve greater opportunity and academic achievement for all learners, including accelerated learners, students with disabilities, and English language learners. This session will offer strategies for enhancing professional development planning using the principles of UDL.

Objective:​ As educational leaders, we aspire to build great systems in a landscape of barriers. Universal Design for Learning (UDL) allows us to do just that and universally designed leadership allows us to apply proven principles of learning to successful leadership practices in the 21st Century.
