In the age of the internet and social media, the teacher’s role is no longer confined to the sole act of dispensing academic content. An infinite amount of knowledge is available in the palm of our hand within seconds. Teaching and learning need to be about building a strong knowledge base in order for students to then engage curiosity with that knowledge.
Learning in the classroom is designed to promote questioning of the content, having students ask why they need to know it and being curious about how can they use knowledge and apply their understandings to relevant situations.
How can we design learning to provide students with multiple opportunities to answer their own questions, pursue their own inquiry and provide creative solutions to real-world issues?
