Zimmerman - Leading Legacy through Social Media: Publishing Student Work for Professional Development

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

You can lead legacy through social media. Become a source of professional development for others through publishing student work, even if you've never presented at a conference. You can also seek out published student work as a source of professional development. Hear the stories of a Pre-K, 1st and 3rd grade teacher who adapted my high school student's published projects for their classes. It took over a year to realize there were teachers inside my school and across the country who were adapting and successfully launching students to design their own projects because of what I published and shared on social media. I didn't realize the impact it was having. Find out how middle and high school students left a legacy for younger students mentoring them in conference presentations. It so inspired 4th grade students that they presented out of state this year with two 7th grade mentors. For them, it all started with Spinodino, a music video created by a 9th and 10th grade student now with nearly 8,000 views on YouTube. This turned into a movement in our school where each teacher creates a collection of published student work. Access student projects and free tools to help you start your own legacy. https://doc.co/Em3c1D
