Changing instructional practice and philosophy is a challenging feat. Often studies look at self-efficacy and professional development as important factors in creating change. However, self-directed professional development is often not discussed.
What is self-directed PD? Why should we help teachers develop self-directed PD mindsets, skills, and habits? And, how do we do so?
This session will discuss these questions and provide scaffolding methods to develop self-directed PD practices.
