Kaitlyn Leidl is the Program Coordinator of the DevTech Research Group, a group that focuses on developing age-appropriate technologies for young children in the Eliot-Pearson Dept. of Child Study & Human Development at Tufts University. She completed her undergraduate degree at Tufts, after which she worked for several years in the public television industry. Kaitlyn returned to Tufts in the summer of 2015 to combine on her background in educational media and STEM curriculum development with her interests in human-computer interaction, robotics, and the intersection of education and emerging digital platforms. She now works at the DevTech Research Group under Professor Marina Umaschi Bers, primarily on the ScratchJr programming app for young children. Her main responsibilities include organizing outreach events in the Boston area, localizing and furthering the educational mission of ScratchJr, conducting research, and managing Tufts undergraduate and graduate students in the lab.
