Linda Rodrigues

Edith C. Baker School
Vice Principal
Brookline, MA

Linda Rodrigues is a native of Connecticut and moved to Los Angeles, California where she worked in the entertainment industry for over 10 years.  During this time, she worked for Radio & Records, an entertainment newspaper, Allegiance Records, and radio station KPWR 106 FM where she met the likes of Stevie Wonder, Lou Rawls and Janet Jackson.

A Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Massachusetts Boston, Linda went on to receive her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a Specialization in Literacy from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA.  After graduating, she taught first grade at the Gilmore School in Brockton, MA and then went on to join the Public Schools of Brookline.

As Educational Specialist with the Brookline METCO (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity) Program, Linda supervised four educational liaisons in the eight elementary schools.

For the past eleven years, Linda has worked as vice principal of the K-8 Edith C. Baker School where the student population has grown from 585 students to approximately 785.

In addition to her work in Brookline, Linda has successfully run a six-week summer program, panos (translation ‘for us’ lower caps intentional), through the Brockton Cape Verdean Association.  This summer program is designed to engage students in EIE (Engineering is Elementary) and STEAM curricula through exciting hands-on learning.
